I have been using the STR-DN860 for a few years now. Not connected to a TV but a 4K monitor. I send my audio to a SONY STR-DN860 via HDMI and the picture to my 4K Monitor using Display Port. The DP connection is using 4:4:4 so I get a very good picture. I find HDMI sub standard, colour depth for DP is 10 bpc and HDMI 8 bpc. My AVR does not have DP connections. This works well for me but has some drawbacks. With HDMI and DP video from my GPU (AMD RX480) Windows thinks I have two screens (which is fine), I don't need a second screen so I clone the two video outputs (via Windows) and I can forget that. As DP is v1.2 it does not support HDCP 2.2, am waiting for DP v1.4 for a new monitor and GPU card which supports DP v1.4 but at present are very rare and expensive. I have also used Optical to AVR but obviously that has limitations. Not sure this helps you in any way but works for me for now.

The title of the video is "5.1 sound and 7.1 sound in Windows 10 using HDMI". I can assure you that I get 5.1 from Windows Sound can be achieved via SPDIF or HDMI Cable. Whenever I use a Windows app (Netflix, DVBviewer, youtube) my AV displays the sound format for example PCM or Dolby D+ 3/2.1 etc. The video shows where to apply video format settings, usually windows detects and selects correct formats. You say you need a solution for video sound, if you tell me how you are connecting the sound to your Sound system (what is it) I may be able to help you.
Check your Windows settings here. Good luck
